General
Like other professionals, aviators work with specialized knowledge and skills, and a license to practice. Like other professionals, trainee pilots have to develop self-discipline. Recognizing this need, the Club emphasizes professionalism in student's conduct, appearance and performance. This emphasis is demonstrated in the deliberate observance of standards, by Club staff, by the establishment and recognition of a Club Code of Conduct; in the meticulously planned and step-by-step schedules and procedures; and the insistence on high standards of trainee performance in ground training.
Discipline
The Club's criterion for student conduct is the standard expected of a professional pilot. Great emphasis is laid on punctuality, attendance, regular study, class tests, etc. In order that each student may enjoy the full benefits of the facilities placed at their disposal, he/she has to abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Club.
Accommodation
Separate accommodation facilities for boys and girls are available to out station students. Few local families also offer accommodation as paying guest. Further details can be obtained from the office.
Books and Materials
The Club will provide necessary class notes for the course but books, which are important for extra reading on various topics to cover syllabus and flight computer, plotter and calculator, are required to be bought by students themselves. List of recommended books is available from the office. Assistance for purchase of such books and materials can be obtained from the office.
The Club Code
The principles, which govern student training and behavior, are provided by the Club Code, which outlines the personal, administrative and disciplinary expectations. Students confirm their understanding of, and commitment to, this code prior to admission.
The intent of the code is the development of self-discipline. A student council provides a means for students to demonstrate the ability to govern their own activities, and the council also links the students and the Club management. The council consists of the Club captain and the Administrator of the Club, and they meet monthly to discuss matters related to student welfare and professional conduct.
