Aiming to make SKYLINE as full-fledged Flying Training Club

The Management of The Skyline Aviation Club is aiming to start its own practical flight training facilities to impart flight training to its students. In our effort to turn your dream of a full fledged Flight Training Institute into reality, On 22nd August 1987 the club had approached Director General of Civil Aviation, Government of India, New Delhi for necessary permission to start flight training activities.

On 8th Sept.1987, the DGCA replied with required guidelines to be followed. On 24th Dec. 1987, the club also applied to National Airport Authority for technical consultancy in respect of construction and development of an aerodrome for flying club activities.

As per the letter of 10th Feb.1988, National Airports Authority has agreed to construct an aerodrome for the club. As an option on 27th June 1988, the Club again applied to the DGCA for permission to use Surat Aerodrome at Surat for proposed flying club activities. On 20th July 1988 the DGCA replied to the Club advising to contact National Airport Authority for the permission.

Due to lack of resources, the plans of follow-ups with Government Departments remained in the file. Lately due to initiatives taken by one of the trainee pilots under training with Skyline, Dr.Kasbekar of Vashi, Navi Mumbai the original plan was reactivated.

On 7th July 1992, the club applied to City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) New Bombay for required land to construct private aerodrome at Vashi, New Bombay. On 24th July 1992 the CIDCO replied and conveyed their co-operation in the matter and advised to contact Defence Department for permission to use proposed land to construct an aerodrome.

As per the letter of Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India dated 2nd Dec.1993, the management of The Skyline Aviation Club is aiming to make a full-fledged flying club by fulfilling the requirements to obtain grant of approval for practical flying training.

The Club also applied for affiliation to Aero Club of India, New Delhi in order to obtain necessary assistance and help in setting up Flight Training Institute. As per letter of Aero Club of India dated 22nd July 1994, they have agreed to grant membership to The Skyline Aviation Club.
