GENERAL CONDITIONS / REQUIREMENTS TO BE FULFILLED FOR ISSSUE
/ RENEWAL OF COMMERCIAL PILOT'S LICENCE

(All Calculations with reference to the date of submission of Application with existing current license) License / IR Issued on Indian Registered aircraft only.
1. Age: 18 years.
2. Final Medical Assessment Report issued by DGCA and Accident / incident report issued by their Organization.
3. No Objection Certificate for Defence Employees.
4. Pass in Air Regulation, Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology (done by FCE Section) A& E (General & Specific) on type on which License required) (done by CEO Section) WT Competence check within 2 years.
5. Current Indian RTR.
6. Flying within preceding 5 years (in hours).
I. Total: 250 hours
PIC: 150 hours
Solo X - Country 25 (with 1 of 300 NM with two full stop landing)
Instrument Flight Time : 10 Hrs. (with not more than 5 on synthetic)
II. Within 6 months:
PIC 15
Solo Night 5 (with 10 To / L)
7. Skill test (within 6 months) General flying test by Day, by Night on aircraft of type; X-country Day & Night on any aircraft endorsed on PPL.
8. Other Requirements:
a) CA-39 forms giving flying for Five years, Six months, aircraft wise in separate forms.
b) 3 Photographs.
c) For Open rating upto 1500 Kgs. AUW: Total flying 1000 hours. PIC : 500 hours.
d) If type of aircraft endorsed on PPL, Tech (General) only need be passed for endorsement of additional aircraft.
e) For endorsement of additional aircraft, Pass in Tech (A&E) Specific and Skill test on type with 3 Take off and Landing by Day and Night required.
f) For endorsement of additional aircraft rating in respect of aircraft less than 5,700 Kgs.: Pass in technical (Aircraft & Engine) performance is also required.
g) 10 + 2 or equivalent, Pass with Physics and Mathematics if flying started with effect from 1-1-1994.
CONVERSION OF FOREIGN CPL TO INDIAN CPL:
1. Requirements as at 1,2,5,6 (I & II).
2. Pass in Air Regulation, Composite Paper (done by FCE Section), W / T competency check within 2 years.
3. Skill Test Day & Night general flying test to be passed.
RENEWAL:
1. Current medical examination report duly assessed by ADGMS (CA);
2. 10 hours Solo or 20 hours Co-pilot flying experience or General flying test by day and by night within a period of six months immediately preceding the date of application.
3. Current FRTO and RTR.
FEES BY DD / IPO: For Issue / Renewal: Rs.100/-
For additional endorsement of a/c: Rs. 50/-
VALIDITY: Issue: 2 years. | Medical: 1 year | Renewal: 2 years.
For Multi Engine Endorsement: 7 hours minimum 1 hour each by Day and Night Skill test 3 Take off and Landings as PIC. For Instrument Rating: Skill test valid if done within 6 months.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CONVERSION OF FOREIGN CPL INTO INDIAN CPL
1. The minimum educational Qualifications have been prescribed as 10 + 2 with Physics and Mathematics for the issue of commercial aircrew licenses, which shall be applicable with effect from 1st April, 1993.
2. One has to pass Air Regulations, composite paper, Navigation (G), Flight Planning, Aviation Meteorology and Signaling exam.
3. One has to qualify for Indian RTR (A), the exam of which is conducted by Assistant Wireless Advisor, Devika Towers, Nehru Place, New Delhi.
4. One should have all the flying requirements for issue of CPL as given in Section 'D' of Schedule II of Aircraft Rules, 1937, and also have 10 hours of PIC experience during the preceding six months as on the date of application for the conversion of the license.
5. One has to undergo skill tests by day / night and IRC Check with a DGCA approved examiner, IRC Check done abroad, if valid, can be accepted.
6. For the grant of multi engine ratings, one should have the experience of 3 Solo take-offs / landings each by day as well as night after the check ride for the grant of aircraft multi-engine rating (MER), and a certificate to this effect should be given by the Chief Flying Instructor (CFI), in Log Book. Log Book should be duly signed and certified by approved FAA Examiner, stamp / seal is essential.
7. FAA 1st class medical certificate is acceptable for the purpose of conversion only, in case it is not valid, one can undergo a fresh medical for the initial issue of CPL at Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME), Dhoula Kuan, New Delhi or at Institute of Aviation Medicine, Indian Air Force, Bangalore.
8. One has to submit an attested photocopy of Matriculation Certificate as a proof of date of birth.
9. Solo cross-country Statement which includes flights of not less than 100 nautical miles and out of which one flight of 300 nautical miles is essential.
10. Total flying experience Aircraft wise in CA 39 Form.
11. Fees for the issue of CPL is Rs.100/-, FRTO Rs.100/-, Rs.50/- for IRC and Rs.50/- for each additional endorsement payable in the form of Indian Postal Order, (IPO) or Bank Draft Drawn in favour of Central Pay & Accounts Officer, DGCA, New Delhi.
